Power of One Documentary

The 2007-2008 Power of One program was filmed and documented by Shane Ernest and Michael McCracken, two twenty-year-old college students from Massachusetts. They are assembling their over seventy hours of footage into a feature-length documentary, highlighting not only the amazing experiences of the Power of One program, but also how particpants were changed by the experience.

Can you imagine traveling to the other side of the world, feeding and bathing elephants, learning and working with Thai students, and having the experience of a lifetime? If you can't, this film will give you a glimpse of what that might be like.

On December 27th, 2007, ten American students, ten Thai students, and twenty Mentors came together in Thailand for the Power of One program. Michael and Shane documented their travels, service learning, and cultural activities, as well as interviewed each student about their experiences during the program. We wish to communicate to the world that good things do happen and that programs like this should be supported for the future of our planet.

We will resume work on the film in the fall, and hopefully have a finished documentary in 2009. Stay posted for updates and information until then!

Help Fund Our Project

We are two college students, and we have taken out big student loans to cover the expenses of the program and filming. We are seeking donations to help repay those loans, from individuals who support our project and our vision.

When the film is finished, we will market and produce it, and if we make a profit, all donations toward our documentary fund (and a whole lot more) will go back to Blue Star of Hope and the Power of One program, to sponsor the Thai students and support the future of this wonderful program.
